Is being overweight bad for me?    Volume 1, Issue 5
   June 4, 2001

The American population is experiencing an epidemic of obesity! And it seems
to have developed the attitude of ,"I'm a little overweight, so what?"

Well, here's "the what." By being overweight you are increasing the
likelihood of developing many serious, sometimes fatal illnesses.

Several disease entities are related to the overweight/obese health categories, including:

-Diabetes

-High Blood Pressure

-Gallbladder Disease

-Osteoarthritis

-Heart Disease

-Certain Types Of Cancer

In addition to the increased incidence of developing medical illnesses, self
esteem begins to suffer. And with diminished self esteem, comes the
likelihood of developing more obesity. And with further obesity, comes
further diminution of self esteem, decreased energy, unhappiness, a general
dis-harmony in life, and so it goes.

It seems that even the women's clothing manufacturers of America have adopted  the apathetic concept that being overweight is acceptable by enlarging dress
sizes.

For example, a previous dress size 6 is made to
measurements of a
dress size 8, although, the label clearly states size 6. Who is fooling whom?

Recently, it was stated on one of the national morning television shows that
by 2006, the average fashion model would be wearing a dress size of 14 !

Understand that the obesity epidemic has not only stricken the women of  America, but take a look at Prince Charming in a t-shirt who in several  years hasn't seen his feet while standing!

Where is the personal responsibility and accountability for one's health?

Apply the principles outlined in the book, "The Cardiac Surgeon's Diet and
Health Design", and you will soon arrive at the proper weight for your body habitus with an associated exhilaration of wellness, new self esteem, newly
found energy, and an opportunity for increased longevity.

Respectfully yours,
