Vitamin Supplementation Plan

Choose a palatable multi-vitamin that doesn't disturb your gastrointestinal tract. Take one of these vitamins daily and add to it:
 

Vitamin C
500 mg/day

This vitamin is most important in wound healing, the immune system, the skeletal system and it is a potent antioxidant.

Beta-Carotene
20,000 iu/day

Lowers risk of lung cancer and cancers of the GI tract - also acts as an antioxidant.

Vitamin B12
400 mcg/day

Vitamin B12 is important for reducing homocysteine, which is a product in the blood that is very harmful to blood vessels. 

Vitamin B6
2-200 mg/day

Vitamin B6 acts as adjunct to Vitamin B12 and folic Acid in preventing heart attack and stroke; and is very important in reducing homocysteine levels.

Folic Acid
400 mcg/day

Folic Acid is very important in reducing homocysteine levels and decreasing incidence of heart attack and stroke; and important in reducing neural tube birth defects.

Vitamin E
400 iu/day

Reduces the risk of cardiovascular events i.e., heart attacks and stroke - important in healing arterial intima which is the lining of arteries - reduces risk of cataracts, boosts the immune system - has been implicated in decreasing the risk of certain types of cancer.
